about

Bonus Track from "More Songs About Girls" recorded 1990.

lyrics

If every day was like last night, I'd find it easy to get out of bed
I hang around all afternoon and try to remember every word that you said
If these promises can't be kept, than I shouldn't even bother to call
I sit in my room and wonder for hours
If you feel like this at all

Maybe I like you too much,
Maybe you're up to no good
I'm so sick and tired of trying but this time, maybe I should

You're an Angel
As long as you're here I don't care if I never see Heaven again
You're an Angel
No matter what happens I won't care so long as you're my best friend

How someone like you could be interested is something I don't understand
You picked me up and brushed me off, all you did was touch my hand

Right now I feel old and stupid
maybe I'll feel almost new
I've messed around enough to know
I don't know nothing quite like you

Maybe I'm asking too much
Maybe you're up to no good
I'm so sick and tired of trying
But this time, maybe I should

You're an Angel
As long as you're here I don't care if I never see Heaven again
You're an Angel
No matter what happens I won't care so long as you're my best friend

It seems like I'd be asking so much if I begged you never to go away now
If I fall from heaven's grace
Would you catch me
would you care
Would you pull me up
Would you tell me you love me anyway
Could you love me anyway

I can't tear my thoughts away from you
You haunt me everywhere I go
Sometimes yeah I get so worried
Wonder if I'll ever know
Why you picked me to be the one
maybe I'm just so naive
You always swear that God is watching
When you hold me I believe

Maybe I like you too much,
Maybe you're up to no good
I'm so sick and tired of trying but this time, maybe I should

You're an Angel
As long as you're here I don't care if I never see Heaven again
You're an Angel
No matter what happens I won't care so long as you're my best friend

You're an Angel
No matter what happens I don't care if I never see Heaven again
You're an Angel
No matter what happens I won't care so long as you're my best friend
