about

Bonus Track from "More Songs About Girls" recorded 1990

lyrics

Well she wore wool socks and Birkenstocks
As down to earth as a bag of rocks
Read poetry at open mic
Picked me up on her mountain bike

Used to feed me homemade bread
Learned to make it from some Deadhead
Made trinkets that she sold for cash
All of this is in the past

Cuz she was cruising down 13th Street
Couldn't stop at Tennessee
Ambulance, lights and all
All they found was her camisole
And those...

Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Man that girl sure was a fox
Loved her then and I love her still
Life to her was no big deal

She wore
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
I really loved that girl

We'd go shopping at Pier 1
Hit the Crossing when we were done
She meant the world to me
She was better than LSD

She was a bohemian
but she was my friend
I loved her desperately
But now she's history

Cuz she was cruising down 13th Street
Couldn't stop at Tennesseee
Ambulance, lights and all
All they found was her camisole
And those...

Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Man that girl sure was a fox
Loved her then and I love her still
Life to her was no big deal

She wore
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
Wool socks and Birkenstocks
